Quality Education and Jobs Initiative

The Quality Education and Jobs Initiative –  would extend the 1¢ sales tax to fund K-12 education, KidsCare, create jobs by funding road, rail and transit projects and establish a Family Stability Fund under the control of the Governor to provide for CPS, Childcare Subsidy and other things important to families with children.   July 5th is the deadline to collect 172,809 signatures to put the initiative on the ballot, and about 104,000 have been collected so far.   The initiative could use help collecting signatures  –  volunteers are needed at any one of the many high school graduations that will take place in the next 2 weeks.   If you can’t volunteer at a graduation, consider collecting signatures from your own social circle, neighborhood, or faith based group.   If you are interested in volunteering, please call Jen Darland at:   870-2642  or email at: jen@darlandmail.com
