Smart Support, Arizona’s Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program, is hiring for a consultant position in Pinal county. The office space available is in Casa Grande and would potentially serve all of Pinal County. The position of mental health consultant (MHC) provides mental health services in a classroom setting to address the behavioral/mental health needs of enrolled children and families with a focus on providing early intervention and prevention services to improve the emotional well-being, coping skills, general adaptive functioning, and social competence of children.
MHCs do not work directly with children, but through childcare providers to ensure that socioemotional needs are being met of all the children in their care, especially those with challenging behaviors.
To be considered for this position candidates must possess a Master’s degree in counseling or a related field; have at least one year of post-master’s experience; and have experience with early childhood (birth-5), preferably in group settings.
