We are currently seeking workshop proposals for the 3rd Annual Family Support Conference. We are seeking dynamic, hands-on, and interactive 2-hour workshops for home visitors, family support specialists, parenting educators, and supervisors. The planning committee would like to emphasize the type of workshops we are seeking this year. Most of the people in the audience are working one on one with families with young children and have received intensive training on their home visitation model. We surveyed the family support/home visiting community to better understand what they are seeking from professional development opportunities. What we heard is they are looking for something beyond the basics and want to learn more about implementing the skills they have learned. They want more experiential learning that might include hands-on activities, role-playing, interactions, modeling, practice, and skill building. It is very important that a basic skill level is assumed with the audience and that your workshop is beyond the 101 level. We would also like for participants to receive information or resources for getting additional support on the topic, should they need it during their work with families.

These are the high priority topics identified by the target audience and these topics will be given priority. If you know someone who presents on any of these topics, please forward this email and form to them as soon as you can.
