Making $ense of Your Money
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona is partnering with organizations and volunteers across Tucson to provide financial education workshops for all ages. These workshops cover topics such as Budgeting, Credit, Car Buying, Home Buying and Financial Recovery. The workshops aim to help individuals and families achieve short- and long-term financial goals.
Each month, this column will highlight workshops happening in the community, as well as provide tips to increase financial awareness. This month, we are partnering with the Tucson Association of Realtors and Tucson Urban League to host the following workshops:
April 10th – Budget and Savings
April 17th – Renter’s Rights and Responsibilities
All workshops will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Tucson Urban League, 2305 S. Park Avenue. Please register for the workshops in advance by contact the Tucson Urban League at 520-791-9522.
Here is a Tip for Making $ense of Your Money:
Budgets aren’t bad! Creating a budget lets you know how much money you have to spend on the stuff you need (housing, food, etc.) and the stuff you want. To get started, simply write down how much income you earn and what you are spending your money on. This will help you become more aware of where your money goes and where you can make adjustments. Setting a budget and getting used to writing down information about your finances are good habits that, once started, can help you throughout your life.
