The Neurobiology of Trauma- What Is Happening in the Brain of Someone With Unresolved Trauma

This DVD session will focus on the current work of Ruth Lanius, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder research unit at the University of Western Ontario.  This DVD session will encompass the connection of attachment and trauma, and explore how PTSD manifests in the parent-child relationship.  Gene expression and neurobiology will also be explored during this DVD session.

Participants will be able to:       

  • Understand how traumatized Mothers react different to their children
  • Gain insight in to how PTSD affects mothering
  • Gather information on the neurobiology of dissociation
  • Learn how to heal impaired attachment patterns

When: Friday, January 17, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
