Yesterday the House of Representatives passed H.R. 4302, which includes an extension of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program at current funding levels. Thank you for your calls, e-mails, and tweets to your Members of Congress to raise awareness about the importance of MIECHV in getting young children off to a good start in life! Your efforts helped us win an uphill battle to get MIECHV into the mix of programs added to this must-do bill.
Now it’s the Senate’s turn to vote. On Monday, the Senate will take up H.R. 4302 and must pass it by Monday night before the current “Doc fix” expires. We are so close to success—but we need your help to make the extension of this important program happen. Senators need to hear strong voices of support from their states. Call your Senators TODAY (or at the latest, Monday morning) to urge them to vote for H.R. 4302 AND support inclusion of MIECHV in any other measure to address the Medicare Sustainable Growth Rate.
