What is Project BEST?

Project BEST is a professional development program which provides an opportunity for participants to explore the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) philosophy, curriculum, and recommended practices through 64 hours of Professional Development along with coaching that is specific to the needs of the center staff and/or individual family child care provider. This program is also offered for college credit through Rio Salado Community College.

Project BEST offers two cohorts, specifically designed to meet the needs of staff and directors. The staff cohort will cover the PITC philosophy, and focus on practice and implementation of essential policies. The director cohort will also cover the PITC philosophy, but focus on how to support staff implementation of essential policies.

The “staff cohort” will meet every Wednesday from 6:30pm-9:30pm from September 17th – December 10th and January 21st – April 22nd. *Staff cohort will be required to attend four (4) guest presentations held on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. The “director cohort” will meet approximately every three (3) weeks on Saturday from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Classes will begin on September 27th and end on May 16th. Classes will be held at Child & Family Resources, Inc for both cohorts.
