Great Expectations for Teachers, Children, and Families: Community of Practice for Home Visitors
Are you a Home Visitor, looking for a way to support your families in learning?
Are you looking for an interactive and comprehensive professional development program?
We invite you to participate in Improving the Quality of Home Visitation
United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona (UWTSA) invites you to take part in an early childhood education professional development opportunity for Home Visitors. UWTSA led the effort together with partner organizations to create 10 communities of practice that have been working together since 2009 to build a new professional development system in Pima County. This Community of Practice for Home Visitors will be the first offered in Pima County.
The goal of the work is to increase the number of well- educated early childhood professionals in Pima County. To reach this goal, the now 11 Communities of Practice offer different types of classes, professional development events and speakers annually. There is never a cost to the people who participate in the learning opportunities.
Improving the Quality of Home Visitation is a professional development program which provides an opportunity to explore the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC) philosophy, curriculum, and recommended practices through professional development sessions along with coaching that is specific to the needs of the home visitor.
This cohort will meet on the first Tuesday of each month from 8:30-11:30 AM. There will also be additional national speakers that the cohort will attend, dates and times to be determined.
